Functionality

JAS CryoTrap is designed as double chamber tube. The outer wall is made of stainless steel. In order to resist thermal fluctuation, a tube made of specific material for optimal heat carriage is positioned inside. Due to the double chamber design, the JAS CryoTrap features an effective insulation. As a consequence reducing the coolant consumption is reduced to a minimum.

JAS CryoTrap is placed inside the GC oven, either at the left hand side wall or below the valve cabinet. The analytical column is guided through the CryoTrap chamber. Due to appropriate coolants the trap zone of the column within the CryoTrap body is cooled down to the effective temperature. Eluates are trapped before chromatographic separation. Subsequent fast re-vaporization of the compounds is caused by rapid heating of the trapping zone. Temperature and time of the trapping process can be optimized depending on the analytes and may easily be adjusted by means of the ChemStation software.
